Retail Lead Hand
Full-time, year round

Hours Per Week: 30 - 40 (guest visit and weather dependent)
Wage: $20.75 /hour
As part of our front-line staff and with the support of the Supervisors, the Retail Lead Hand will be dedicated to enabling our team to provide outstanding service to our guests, demonstrating expertise in product knowledge, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment at both the Basecamp and Summit stores. As part of a dynamic and fun sales team, you will work together in achieving daily sales goals and creating a positive experience for the guests.
Duties and responsibilities
Assist the retail team to provide excellent customer experiences through friendly conversation, open ended questions, genuine compliments, and memorable farewells.
Maintain a strong presence in both Basecamp and Summit Stores, leading by example to ensure that customers receive the highest standards of customer service and sales expertise.
Ensure retail spaces are always presented and merchandised to a high standard to maximize sales.
Lead and provide consistent feedback to Retail Associate team members ensuring they are set up to perform their duties successfully, and assisting them with reaching their individuals goals.
Train and provide the tools to enable team members to promote an efficient, effective, and happy operation and retail experience.
Motivate and engage team members by continuously leading by example.
Remain calm under stressful and high-volume situations.
Assist in advancing sustainability goals through responsible waste and energy management, packaging reduction, and educating employees and guests on sustainable product offerings.
Follow policies and procedures as they relate to standard operating procedures and safety.
Ensure all health and safety regulations are being followed by team members.
Represent the Retail function across the gondola; understand gondola events and activities and identifying retail sales opportunities.
Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with all stakeholders; guests, management, and team members.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills, experience & education
Minimum 2 years’ experience working within the tourism or retail industry preferred.
Proven leadership skills in training, coaching, developing and motivating Team Members.
The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with our Guests and Passholders.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling cash.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
The ability to remain calm under stressful and high-volume situations.
Computer literate and able to learn large amounts quickly and to ‘think on your feet’.
Mature, friendly, and well-groomed.
A passion for people and the outdoors.
Criminal record check required.
