Production Cook
Full-time, Year Round
Hours per week: up to 40 - depends on status
Rate of pay: $20 per hour + gratuities
Reporting to our Executive Chef, the Production Cooks prepare products for daily service, weddings, special events and grab & go. In this role, our team members will have the opportunity to learn new cooking styles and recipes. We are looking for a passionate team player, as you are the heart of the kitchen and will be preparing food for all our outlets and events. This role requires minimal line cooking and will primarily focus on production work. The candidate must have knowledge in using different kitchen tools, kitchen equipment and have adequate knife skills.
Duties and responsibilities
- Execute daily food preparation and production tasks according to established recipes, standards, and prep lists.
- Support multiple outlets by preparing proteins, sauces, sides, and other core components for service.
- Ensure consistency in product quality, portioning, and presentation across all menu items.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation at all times.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations, including proper labeling, dating, and storage.
- Assist with receiving, checking, and organizing deliveries to ensure product quality and accuracy.
- Practice proper stock rotation (FIFO) and contribute to minimizing food waste.
- Communicate effectively with chefs and team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Assist in maintaining accurate prep levels to meet service demands across multiple outlets.
- Support the kitchen team during peak periods with basic cooking and plating as required.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to improve skills and knowledge
- Supports organisational sustainability goals by incorporating environmentally responsible practices into daily work and minimising environmental impact.
- Identifies opportunities within their role to reduce waste, conserve resources, and enhance sustainable operations.
- Utilises Microsoft 365 tools (including Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, and other authorised systems) and approved AI technologies to support collaboration, communication, and work efficiency.
- Applies critical thinking and professional judgement to all AI-assisted work; outputs are reviewed, validated, and not relied upon as the sole basis for decisions.
- Adheres to company policies, data privacy requirements, and security standards when using digital tools and AI.
- Remains fully accountable for the accuracy, appropriateness, and security of all work outputs.
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Skills, experience & education
- Minimum 2 year of experience in a high-volume F&B environment.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Proven ability in managing time is critical; must be able to plan and execute effectively.
- Knowledge of Quick Serve operations.
- Food Safe Certificate is mandatory.
- Able to stay calm under stressful conditions.
- Knowledge of culinary cooking techniques.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- High attention to detail and can multitask under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
- Mature, friendly, and well-groomed.
- Criminal Record Check required.
