Rate of Pay: $22.00 per hour + gratuities

The Chef de Partie plays a key role in the day-to-day culinary operations at Sea to Sky Gondola, taking ownership of a designated station while supporting production and service across multiple outlets, including Back Yard Bites, Sky Pilot Smokehouse, and Ocean View Grill. Reporting to the Restaurant Chef or Sous Chef, this position ensures consistent execution, quality control, and efficient service while mentoring junior team members.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee and manage designated stations during prep and service, ensuring efficiency and organization.
Execute menu items to a high standard, maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning.
Support multiple outlets with both service execution and production requirements as needed.
Lead and support cooks and junior team members, providing guidance, training, and mentoring.
Ensure all prep is completed accurately and on time according to daily prep lists.
Monitor food quality and station readiness throughout service, making real-time adjustments as needed.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and sanitation across work areas.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage.
Communicate effectively with chefs and FOH teams to ensure smooth and coordinated service.
Contribute to menu development, testing, and continuous improvement of dishes.
Support cost control initiatives through proper portioning, waste reduction, and efficient use of ingredients.
Foster a positive, professional team environment and lead by example during service.
Supports organisational sustainability goals by incorporating environmentally responsible practices into daily work and minimising environmental impact.
Identifies opportunities within their role to reduce waste, conserve resources, and enhance sustainable operation
Utilises Microsoft 365 tools (including Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, and other authorised systems) and approved AI technologies to support collaboration, communication, and work efficiency
Applies critical thinking and professional judgement to all AI-assisted work; outputs are reviewed, validated, and not relied upon as the sole basis for decisions.Adheres to company policies, data privacy requirements, and security standards when using digital tools and AI
Remains fully accountable for the accuracy, appropriateness, and security of all work outputs.
Skills and Experience
Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a high-volume environment.
Previous experience in a Chef de Partie or strong Line Cook role.
Strong understanding of cooking techniques, station management, and food preparation.
Ability to lead a station independently during busy service periods.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (Food Safe Level 1 required; Level 2 an asset).
Ability to remain calm and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
