The Shannon Basin Loop Trail is a moderately easy, winding loop that follows the terrain around the Shannon Creek watershed and offers views of Goat Ridge, Shannon Creek, Skypilot and the top of the gondola.
The Shannon Basin Loop takes the Backcountry Access road then drops down an old roadbed that meanders down 3.2 km to a bridge crossing over Shannon Creek. From there you can drop down the Sea to Summit Trail and continue to the bottom, or stay right and go up the Upper Sea to Summit Trail to the top of the gondola. Connecting to the Upper Sea to Summit Trail makes for a nice, moderately technical, 2-4 hour hike from the top of the gondola.
