Is the Sea to Sky Gondola open year-round?
Yes, the Sea to Sky Gondola is open year-round, except for periods of seasonal maintenance. There are different activities offered and different hours of operation depending on the time of year. Please see Adventures tab and Hours of Operation page for more information.

How long is the gondola ride?
The gondola ride is approximately 10 minutes to the top.
What is the elevation of the Summit Lodge?
The gondola climbs 850m to reach an elevation of 885m above Howe Sound.
Are dogs allowed on the gondola and Sea to Sky Gondola trails?
We are offering a DOWNLOAD ONLY “Buster the Dog” Annual Pass.
Passes are available for online purchase here. A portion of each pass sale will go towards the Squamish SPCA.
Dog owners can hike to the summit via the Sea to Summit Trail network and then download with their dog on the gondola. Dogs are required to be on a leash at all times. Dogs are not be allowed on any other Sea to Sky Gondola trails, bridges or viewing platforms. However, they can visit the backcountry trails. How many gondolas are there? Do I have to ride with other guests?
There are 30 gondolas that hold 8 passengers each. Parties with fewer than 8 people will be expected to combine with other groups to create full cabins.
Is the Sea to Sky Gondola wheelchair and stroller accessible?
Yes, the gondola cabins are wheelchair and stroller accessible. The Summit Lodge and viewing deck are also accessible (weather conditions permitting).

What is a One-Way Download Only Day Ticket?
The One-Way Download Only Day Ticket is for guests who would like to access our Summit Lodge and trail network by hiking to the top via our Sea to Summit Trail. Once at the top we are giving our guests the option of downloading on the gondola with a One-Way Download Only Day Ticket for a much cheaper price than the regular Day Ticket. The One-Way Download Only Day Ticket is only valid for one ride down the gondola. You can not ride up the gondola with this ticket.
Do you have a trail map for Sea to Sky Gondola trails?
Yes, we have paper trail maps available at our Basecamp Guest Services Desk, and digital trail maps on our Trail Maps page.
Do you have a restaurant at the summit? And if so, do you accept private bookings?
Yes, we have a fully licensed restaurant in our Summit Lodge (See ‘Facilities' for more information). We accept private function bookings, please note we have an approximate max capacity of 110 people in the group/private space but more capacity overall if necessary. Are drones allowed on the gondola and Sea to Sky Gondola trails?
For safety reasons. drones are not allowed on the Sea to Sky Gondola property or summit tenure area.
What winter activities are available at the Summit Lodge?
We have winter walking, snowshoeing, a tube park and for the experienced, we have access to backcountry skiing and snowshoeing. We recommend anyone accessing the backcountry to travel with a local certified guide.
Can you bring ski/snowboard equipment on the gondola with you?
Yes during the winter months (conditions permitting), you are able to bring your ski/snowboard equipment up with you if have the appropriate backcountry gear with you. Please be aware of the avalanche danger and always check current avalanche conditions.
Are there mountain biking trails from the top of the gondola?
As Ted Tempany of Dream Wizards says, "When the trails are all time!" we will launch the program. Unfortunately, there will be nothing open in 2019. We are still in discussions about this idea.
What is your smoking policy?
The Sea to Sky Gondola is a 100% smoking free facility. We want a smoke-free experience so all of the guests can enjoy the fresh air. No smoking is permitted on the grounds by any guest or team member. Especially in summer months, we are on high alert for forest fires and smoking is strictly prohibited. E-cigarettes are permitted and may be used by the entrance to the backcountry access road at the summit. Guests may want to consider smoking before beginning their gondola trip.
